- The Town of Pinetop-Lakeside will be a sponsor
of a non-competitive 5K walk to raise funds for Woodland Lake Park. This
event will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2008 beginning at 8:00 a.m. at the
Pinetop Lakes Golf and Country Club. The "Save Our Park" subcommittee of the
Woodland Lake Park Acquisition Committee is organizing this fundraiser.
Regional attractions
White Mountain Trail System: Offers a variety of trail opportunities both scenic
beauty and trail skill levels. It is a series of 11 loop trails on the Lakeside
Ranger District. Several of the loop trails connect to each other. The system is
designed for non-motorized travel: hiking, mountain bike, and equestrian use.
Fort Apache is located 4 miles southwest of Whitewater
near Hwy 73. The fort features General Crook's headquarters and the Apache

Sunrise Park Resort: The resort, owned and operated by
the White Mountain Apache Tribe, is Arizona's largest ski area and usually
experiences about 250 to 300 inches of snow seasonally. Located in the heart of
Arizona's White Mountains, about 215 miles northeast of Phoenix. The resort
offers family ski packages, ski lessons and daycare, and miles of cross-country,

Annual events
August: Bluegrass Music Festival at the Hon-Dah Resort and Conference Center
Fairgrounds (south of Pinetop-Lakeside). Bluegrass bands from Southwest, jam
sessions, family entertainment, food, arts and crafts. Be sure and bring your

September: The Annual Fall Festival Arts & Crafts is a
large arts and crafts show with over 150 artists in attendance. All arts and
